Until the devastation that Hurricane Harvey caused, the Balats lived in the Meyerland area with their two teenage children, Abbie and Joshua. Just like so many Houstonians, the Balats completely lost their home to the flood waters. They sought temporary housing for several months and are now residing in a permanent location in Rice Military.
